Sleeping Beauty:This full length production features The SA Ballet Theatre’s leading stars with choreography based on the original by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, to the beautiful score by Peter Tchaikovsky. Produced by Alexei Ilin and The SABT Artistic Staff, the season runs at the Johannesburg Civic Theatre from 29 March to 13 April.

Autumn Enchantment:Autumn Enchantment is a programme of romantic excerpts from popular operas, musicals and ballets in the tradition of the highly popular Valentine Enchantment performances. The orchestral ensemble will be conducted by Maestro Graham Scott who will also be arranging the various scores.
The National Arts in Grahamstown: The SA Ballet Theatre then visits The National Arts in Grahamstown with an extended version of its existing Don Quixote produced by SA Ballet Theatre Principal dancer and Coach Christian Tatchev. The Company presents three performances between 2 to 5 July at the 1820 Settler’s Monument. Last seen in Pretoria in 2005 but never performed in Johannesburg, La Traviata, choreographed by Veronica Paeper, comes to The Johannesburg Civic Theatre from 15 August to 7 September.
Once again, this season is accompanied by The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra. The tragic tale is based on Alexandre Dumas’ La Dame aux camélias. The La Traviata Open Day takes place at 10h00 on August 2 at The SABT studios.
The SA Ballet Theatre has once again been invited by Hospice to perform in at its annual fundraiser in Knysna. Senior dancers will perform highlights from the Company’s repertoire from 9 to 14 September. This short season has become a regular feature on the Knysna events calendar, one which The SABT dancers particularly look forward to.
