Practice Kindness with SA Harvest and Your Myschool Card
Written by: MyPressportal Team Save to Instapaper
What does kindness mean to you? For food rescue and hunger relief organisation SA Harvest, kindness is rescuing food that would otherwise go to waste and delivering it to hungry South Africans all over the country. It means being kind to the earth by ensuring that food that would have ended up in landfill causing damage to the environment through harmful methane gas emissions ends up in hungry tummies instead.
SA Harvest has been practising their special brand of kindness since October 2019 and in the last three years of exponentially increased need as a result of Covid lockdowns, they’ve delivered over 31 million meals and rescued 9,3 million kilograms of food.
This World Kindness Day, SA Harvest is inviting you to practice kindness by simply adding them as a beneficiary on your MySchool/MyVillage/MyPlanet card. This simple act means that every time you swipe your card you’ll be practicing further acts of kindness – helping to save the planet and feed hungry people, all with one swipe. What’s more, for the month of November, SA Harvest will receive R10 for every new sign-up! In SA Harvest’s world, R10 means that six children will receive a meal, because their cost per meal is only R1,60 – which means even a small donation makes a big impact.
For more information on how to make SA Harvest a beneficiary of your MySchool/MyVillage/MyPlanet card, go to https://bit.ly/SAH-myplanet or follow them on social media @saharvest.
