Dozens of wanna-be magicians are scrambling to submit their registration forms for the world-renowned College of Magic’s upcoming Course One, which kicks off on Saturday 30 January, 2016!
Cape Town’s only magical organisation, the College of Magic has been training adults and children in the wondrous art of magic and its allied arts since 1980 and will now welcome a new host of eager wizardry recruits to its mysterious Victorian manor base in Claremont.
With its specifically-created teaching rooms, expertly-trained lecturers, fascinating facilities including a magical museum, a multi-purpose ‘imagination’ centre and more, the College provides the perfect training ground for your aspirant Harry Potters to learn all of the amazing secrets of magic.
Registration spots are over half way full already for the 15 week exciting and intensive diploma course which includes rope magic, card tricks and coin effects as well as an introduction to the allied arts, namely juggling, mime, clowning and puppetry.
“We’ve been handing down the secrets of magical theatre to generations of learners over the decades and to see the demand for this year’s registration has been incredible! We look forward to having our new students join us for a fantastic educational experience”, says David Gore, director of the College of Magic.
Course One, an entry level course suitable for learners aged 10 to 13 years old, will run at the College of Magic, 215 Imam Haron Rd (previously Lansdowne Road) in Claremont each Saturday for six months from 30 January, 2016 with classes at 09h00 and at 12h00. Course fees include all course equipment and notes, as well as participation in any or all of the allied arts on offer.
