Love Thy Neighbour Stokvel Group Chosen to Represent Joburg at the Stokvel Cooking Challenge Finals!

Love Thy Neighbour Women’s Club took the title as Johannesburg’s winning stokvel group at the 2016 Stokvel Cooking Challenge semi-finals this pastSaturday, sponsored by White Star and Royco©. The first round of semi-finals took place at Elangeni Powertrade Cash & Carry in Daveyton where the stokvel groups Love Thy Neighbour Women’s Club, Unity Society Group and the Siyathemba Stokvel competed against each other by preparing mouth-watering starters and main dishes using a mystery basket of ingredients.
Love Thy Neighbour Women’s Club impressed the star judges – singer, actress and White Star celebrity chef, Lucia Mthiyane, and MasterChef SA 2014 runner-up, Siphokazi Mdlankomo with their frikadeles, pap and salad starter and their chicken, pumpkin and mushroom main.
The crowd was entertained with music, delicious food and drinks as well as prizes while the stokvel groups prepared and presented their dishes throughout the day. Love Thy Neighbour Women’s will represent their region in the finals taking place on the 4th of June 2016.
