The popular Lanzerac Summer Masterclass series is back again this year, starting with a Wellness Masterclass. After a stressful 2020, this event aims to inspire guests to embrace the ‘new year, new you’ concept with a strong focus on mental and physical wellbeing.
Taking place on 26 March 2021, the Masterclass will be hosted by the influential Minki van der Westhuizen, one of South Africa’s most-loved media personalities. Attendees will be introduced to a holistic approach to wellness, with topics ranging from mental and physical wellbeing to the importance of creating a healthy work-life balance, all extremely relevant and important issues in our current climate. The Masterclass is designed to help women navigate and prioritise their lives in the healthiest way possible and touch on key talking points around exercise, career and family.
This event is the latest in a six-part Summer Masterclass series at Lanzerac, which sees an impressive list of influential collaborators hosting various Masterclasses throughout its run. Floral design extraordinaire Heike Hayward and Executive Chef Stephen Fraser hosted the first and second Masterclasses in October and November 2020 respectively with great success, each impressing with their industry expertise and skills. In December, award-winning guest speakers Justin Shaw and David van Zyl dazzled attendees with the art of mixology.
Wellness Masterclass hosted by Minki
The fourth masterclass will take a practical and theoretical approach to mind and body wellbeing. The event will include a pilates class, followed by a 30-minute spa treatment and a TheraVine talk and demonstration. The spa treatments will be a choice of a leg and foot massage or a scalp massage. This will be followed by a wellness talk by Minki before guests tuck into a delicious three-course lunch at the well-known Taphuis restaurant.
Says Lauren Berry from Lanzerac, “We’re very excited for this event. 2020 has been a challenging year for all of us, and this Wellness Masterclass is the perfect way to set a positive tone for the rest of the year. Being a mom and businesswomen, Minki knows all about finding a work-life balance with a focus on mental and physical wellbeing. We’re sure her story will strike a chord with many South African women while the informative and inspiring talks, demonstrations and treatments will leave guests feeling revitalised and ready to tackle 2021 with a clearer perspective.”
