Hyde Park Corner’s first three R50k winners celebrate in style

There’s every reason for celebration for the first three winners of R50 000 worth of gift vouchers from Hyde Park Corner – not only is it the centre’s 50^th birthday, but being ‘Fifty & Fabulous’ means spreading the love to five lucky winners of R50 000 each.

Damian Boyce from Inanda, who has been visiting the “Corner” with his family for about 30 years, was the first winner in the 4 November lucky draw. “I entered the competition following a lovely Sunday evening dinner with my daughter at the seafood restaurant – and am delighted to have won. This is a very generous prize and we’re going to enjoy it. Thank you to Hyde Park Corner.”

The second winner from Sandton, drawn on 11 November, thanked Hyde Park Corner and Carlton Hair for the wonderful surprise before the festive season. She says, “I have been going to Carlton Hair for 10 years. The team is talented and the I am always pampered and made to feel welcome and special.” Carlton Hair has been trading at Hyde Park Corner since its early beginnings, 50 years ago.

The third winner, Barbara Pettit, recently moved to Joburg from Cape Town. She was a first-time shopper at Hyde Park Corner who came to the centre for breakfast, fell in love with the variety and decided to do all her shopping in the centre, knowing that she stood a chance to win in every store. But it was her grocery shopping at Pick ‘n Pay that resulted in her R50 000 voucher win. “I’m loving Joburg, and this has made it even better,” she says.

With three of the R50 000 prizes having been given away, there are still two more chances to win in the weekly draws. All you have to do is spend R500 in any shop in the centre in the week before the draw and enter your name into the competition. The last two R50 000 winners will be announced on 25 November and 2 December.
