More/2… Footsteps to Fortune The public holiday on Wednesday, 16 December will see 12 diversely talented dancers from Durban taking to the SUNCOAST Zone stage at 19h00 for the gala final of the Footsteps to Fortune reality dance competition, hosted in partnership with Makulu Event Producers. The 12 young dancers have to date out-performed around 400 competitors in the early stages of the competition and stand to win up to R22,500.00 in cash plus prizes sponsored by Hirsch. The event will include choreography and costumes by Durban style guru Kevin Ellis. Double dose of comedy If laughs are on your menu, SUNCOAST will be serving double helpings this December with two side-splitting comedies running in the SUNCOAST Zone. Curry on Laughing runs from 17 to 20 December and features Sans Moonsamy of Those Indian Guys!, Eastern Mosaic presenter, Jailoshini Naidoo, and Comedy Festival man, Eubulus Tracy. Moonsamy then takes to the stage on his own in Karma Comedian from 21 to 23 December. Tickets for both shows are R100 each available from Computicket.
SUNCafe If lapping up the Durban sunshine is more your thing, don’t miss the SUNCafe Beach Bar in front of the SUNCOAST complex from Saturday, 12 December to Saturday, 10 January 2010, open from 10am-6pm. It will include a cocktail bar and relaxing touches like hammocks and bamboo reed awnings for guests to enjoy live entertainment, competitions and promotions. Entry is R5 for the general public and free for SUNCOAST platinum card holders. Happy New Year! SUNCOAST’s festive programme then comes to a spectacular climax from 19h00 on New Year’s Eve with the complex’s annual bash in the SUNCOAST Zone.
This year the celebration takes the format of a delectable dinner, followed by a live musical and comedy show by local favorites Aaron McIlroy and Lisa Bobbert. It ends off with a spectacular fireworks display on the SUNdeck. Guests will be seated at tables themed according to different nationalities, in a fitting tribute to the year that South Africa plays host to the world.
