In an exciting culmination to a competition that captured the imagination of many aspiring stars across South Africa, HUAWEI, in partnership with YFM (Y) and Boston Media House, is thrilled to announce the winner of the R200 000 bursary. The competition, which ran from April 4th to April 19th, aimed to empower the creative youth by equipping one lucky winner with not just the groundbreaking HUAWEI nova 12i smartphone but also a life-changing educational opportunity.
After weeks of anticipation and thousands of entries, it is with great excitement that we revealed the grand draw winner Nthontho Yvodia Kgotleng as the recipient of the Boston Media House bursary valued at R200 000.
The HUAWEI nova 12i, celebrated for its aesthetic elegance, superior battery performance, and innovative photography capabilities, has already set a new benchmark in the market. Designed to empower the South African lifestyle, the nova 12i is perfect for those ready to capture and document every moment in crystal-clear focus, thanks to its 108MP Main Camera and advanced imaging technologies. Making it the ideal digital canvas for aspiring South African creatives.
"We are immensely proud to support the dreams and ambitions of South Africa's youth. Nthontho Yvodia Kgotleng’s journey is just beginning, and with the HUAWEI nova 12i by their side, along with a comprehensive education from Boston Media House, the sky's the limit. This collaboration with Y and Boston Media House underlines our commitment to nurturing talent and encouraging our users to harness their star power," says Peter Feng, General Manager, HUAWEI Consumer Business Group South Africa.
The competition involved participants listening out for the HUAWEI nova 12i keyword during specific Y shows, sending it via the Y App, and standing a chance to win the nova 12i smartphone. All smartphone winners were then entered into the draw for the grand prize – the Boston Media House bursary.
This initiative is part of HUAWEI's ongoing effort to inspire, empower, and elevate the capabilities of young South Africans, enabling them to become the stars of their own stories. We congratulate our winner on this remarkable achievement and look forward to seeing how they use this opportunity to shape their creative future.
