Voted the best consumer exhibition of its size in 2018, the Gauteng Getaway Show will once again be providing inspiration, special offers, chances to win amazing travel prizes and a fun day out for the whole family when it returns to the TicketPro Dome from 4 to 6 October.
Proudly sponsored by Bosch Car Service, the Getaway Show is the ultimate showcase of travel destinations, accommodation, outdoor gear, 4x4 products and accessories, motor homes, caravans and trailers, camping equipment and adventure operators, making it a one-stop-shop for adventure travel.
This year families can look forward to a jam-packed day of fun and games, with live music, a kids and toddler play area, market, food trucks, Spin and Win, adventure area, beer tent and more. The adventure stations include virtual reality pods, wacky wheel rides, a parachute ride, putt putt and water balls.
Avid photographers can look forward to a wildlife and landscape photography workshop, brought to you by Big 5 Photos. Taking place on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 October, the workshop takes place in two sessions, each one priced at R150 per person, or R250 for both sessions and the price includes entry to the show. Session 1 on wildlife photography with Michael Tucker takes place from 9h30 to 11h30, and session 2 on landscape photography with Robbie Aspeling takes place from 13h00 to 15h00. Seats are limited and can be booked online at https://www.getaway.co.za/wildlife-photography-workshop/ or on Quicket.
This year’s show also features a first in its 23-year history – the transformation of a standard vehicle into a custom-built road trip vehicle. This extreme makeover of the vehicular kind takes place live over the three days of the show, with the owner of a standard bakkie, 4x4 or SUV winning the opportunity to have their car transformed, driving away in their vehicle with modifications to the value of R177 000, courtesy of Pedders Suspension, Opposite Lock, Front Runner, Takla, SnoMaster, MultiTyreService, Points Tyre and Auto Service. For a chance to be the lucky winner of the ultimate vehicle facelift, go to https://www.getaway.co.za/competitions/win-the-ultimate-facelift-for-your-vehicle/ and enter before 13 September.
Simply purching tickets to the Getaway show on Quicket will put you in line to win some amazing prizes, including a one week stay in Mauritius for two people, valued at R40 000 sponsored by Getaway Travel, and a trip to Madagascar for two for seven nights worth R56 500, with flights sponsored by Airlink. And if you’re among the first 150 people to get to the show on Friday you’ll receive a free boerewors roll.
Tickets are R80 for adults, R40 for scholars and pensioners, and free entry for kids 12 and under. Go to getaway.co.za for more info or Quicket to book your tickets. Follow the Getaway Show on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @getawayshow.
