Amanda Black and Bucie Ready to Rock the Ridge

Tsogo Sun’s The Ridge is excited to announce that Amanda Black and Bucie will be performing for the first time ever at The Venue.
Amanda Black took part in three seasons of Idols South Africa, but became a fan favourite during season 11, when she made it to the top seven. With a view to pursuing her music career, she moved to Johannesburg in 2016 and was approached by Ambitiouz Entertainment, which offered her a recording contract. On 11 November 2016, she released her long-anticipated debut album, Amazulu. Less than a month after its release, the album sold over 31,000 copies, leading the Recording Industry of South Africa to certify it Platinum. In 2018, Amanda parted ways with Ambitiouz Entertainment, and joined a new team to help grow her brand. She is now working on new projects, including a partnership with the South African National Blood Services to raise awareness for blood donations.
Bucie, dubbed the ‘Princess of House Music’, is known for lending her powerful voice to Black Coffee’s hit, Superman. The name Bucie came about after a series of deliberations, because the industry already had a number of Busis. The plan was to come up with an exciting and powerful stage name that best described her. The funked up Bucie was the perfect name that matched her rock star mentality, and the rest, as they say, is history. She has since gone on to affirm her position as one of the best South African House vocalists.
“This show is guaranteed to have guests dancing in their seats, and talking about it for days to come. We are ecstatic to be hosting these two incredible artists and local favourite – G2G for the very first time, and to offer guests the best in home-grown entertainment,” says The Ridge Marketing Manager, Marina Coetzee.
