Anjunadeep, the renowned UK label is slated to make its South African debut with two incredible events scheduled for this coming March. The first, Ajunadeep Open Air Johannesburg will take place at The River Cabin in Cedar, Johannesburg, on Friday, March 29th, 2024. Followed by Ajunadeep Open Air Cape Town on Saturday, March 30th, 2024, kicking off at The Ostrich in Cape Town.

Anjunadeep promises to weave the label's emblematic, melodic soundscapes and unparalleled production values with the rich tapestry of South Africa's local talent, all set against the backdrop of two breathtaking open-air venues in the beautiful cities of Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Known for its unbelievable lineups and unique sound, Ajunadeeps's debut in South Africa will be no exception. The shows will feature international headliners Ben Bohmer, James Grant. Jody Wisternoff and Nicky Elisabeth supported by the outstanding homegrown talents of Da Capo, FKAMash, Kareyndasoul, Buhle and Cornelius SA to make this a truly unforgettable experience amidst the natural beauty of South Africa.

Ajunadeep

London based, independent record label Anjunadeep was set up in 2005 by Above & Beyond. In its early years the imprint existed as a sub-label to parent imprint, Ajunabeats. Initially releasing deep trance and progressive house, Ajunadeep has since evolved its output to offer only the very finest in deep house as well as progressive and melodic techno.

James Grant, brother of Above & Beyond’s Jono Grant heads up A&R for the label and mixes the annual compilation series, currently alongside Jody Wisternoff. The label hosts a weekly radio show ‘The Anjunadeep Edition’, featuring guest mixes from artists on the roster.

A transformative force in electronic music, championing talents like Ben Bohmer, Dusky, Lane 8, Yotto, Cubicolor, and Eli & Fur amongst many others, Ajunadeep's storied history is punctuated with sold-out parties at iconic locations across the globe. BEN BOHMER

German Electronic music's brightest rising star, 30-year old Berlin based producer and live act Ben Böhmer continues from strength to strength. His sophomore album ‘Begin Again’, released on Anjunadeep in 2021, has since attained over 135 million streams.

In support of the album Ben embarked on a 75,000 ticket headline tour in 2022. All dates were sold out months in advance and included marquee performances at Brixton Academy and The Roundhouse in London, UFO in Berlin, The Fonda Theatre, LA and Brooklyn Steel in New York.

He followed the tour up with a string of high profile festival performances including Glastonbury, Primavera, Sziget, Lost Village, EDC and Life Is Beautiful and this Autumn debuted his Portraet series in the US for the first time following a successful launch in Ibiza last summer. The series saw him headline sold out shows at iconic venues such as The Shrine in LA and Brooklyn Mirage in NY where he was supported by the likes of TSHA and Barry Can’t Swim.

This past October he made a triumphant return musically with the anthemic ‘One Last Call’ - His first original song since the release of ‘Begin Again’. This single also marked a move to Ninja Tune where Ben now sits alongside a multitude of other acclaimed Electronic producers including Bonobo and Odesza.

JAMES GRANT & JODY WISTERNOFF

Anjunadeep label co-founder and A&R James Grant and Bristolian DJ Jody Wisternoff frequently share the stage together, with 2023 seeing the duo perform at Red Rocks, Finsbury Park London, The Gorge Amphitheatre, Anjunadeep Explorations Festival and more. As long time friends, the duo have collaborated together on a number of releases including ‘Dapple’, ‘Nightwhisper’ and ‘Free’, along with impressive remixes ranging from David Hohme’s ‘Soft Landing’ to P.O.S.' s ‘Not Going Back’.

An in-demand DJ who has performed everywhere from Miami, Tokyo, Goa, and Europe to Central and South America, London-based, internationally renowned producer and tastemaker James Grant is known as much for his work with the popular electronic music label as he is for his deep, melodic house beats. He is label co-founder and A&R for Anjunadeep, and has mixed most of the annual label compilations, with the 14th volume appearing in 2023, as well as releasing co-productions and remixes on the label.

One half of Bristol’s veteran house and trance group Way Out West, producer and DJ Jody Wisternoff has also maintained a successful solo career releasing his own productions of nostalgic electro and progressive house. From his last album ‘Nightwhisper’, to delivering outstanding remixes for Alan Fitzpatrick, Scorz and Pretty Pink, garnering over 70m streams on DSPs. He’s a globally touring DJ with 2023 seeing him play in North America, Europe and Asia.

NICKY ELISABETH

Born in the South of the Netherlands and raised in Belgium, Nicky Elisabeth is a DJ and producer. Her love for music started with singing when she was 16 and developed into a passion for DJing by the age of 18.

Residing in Amsterdam, Nicky has the epicenter of electronic music right at her doorstep and is fully immersed into the techno scene. With themes of love and emotion running through her music, there’s always an evocative feel to her productions. Adept at performing on large stages as well as the most intimate club shows, Nicky’s penchant for melodies and strong vocal hooks shines through in her DJ sets, earning her admirers the world over.

Anyone who has experienced a Nicky Elisabeth set at her Club Atelier residency in Amsterdam will instantly recognise much of the special atmosphere and punchy sounds of those nights in this rising Ajunadeep star's recent releases on the label.
