Esquire Online - A Testament to Digital Transformation
Written by: MyPressportal Team Save to InstapaperEsquire Technologies, a leading technology distributor, has reported remarkable growth in its online sales, achieving a milestone of 144,000 online orders to date. This exponential growth underscores the increasing consumer confidence in digital purchasing and the company's commitment to expanding its product range and enhancing its digital infrastructure.
As more market players enter the arena, Esquire remains focused on supporting Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) clients by transforming into a comprehensive fulfilment company. The company aims to revolutionise the e-commerce landscape, empowering businesses to compete with larger, international web stores.
According to Mahomed Cassim, CEO of Esquire Technologies, the group has significantly broadened its product portfolio to include IT and digital lifestyle products, consumer home products, DIY tools, and home and office stationery and equipment. "We are adding almost 100 to 200 products daily," Cassim noted, emphasising the company’s dedication to providing a wide array of options to meet diverse customer needs. "We want them to focus on their strengths, leaving the logistics to us. Esquire is more than a supplier; we are a strategic partner in the success of small to medium retail and online businesses."
In addition to expanding its product range, Esquire has recently launched a new website, currently housed on www.esquire.co.za. Mariam Wadiwala, the General Manager of the ImproWeb division, which has been working on the new website, shared that this project has taken over six months to complete and is currently in its final stages, with just a few more functionalities to be added. "We are expecting this figure to rise significantly in the next few years, as many of our clients are now seeing the value of placing orders 24-7. The new platform is geared up for this growth," Wadiwala said.
Esquire is one of the first distributors in South Africa to offer an online ordering facility for all the products they distribute. This unique service showcases the company’s forward-thinking approach and commitment to providing seamless online shopping experiences, including full descriptions, features, specifications and almost real-time stock levels for each product on the website.
A significant milestone in Esquire's digital journey is the development of the world’s first Virtual Reseller Network (VRN), facilitated by its subsidiary, ImproWeb, an e-commerce solutions company. Currently, over 500 resellers are integrated into the Esquire backend. Furthermore, over 200 clients are now leveraging the datafeed provided by Esquire, allowing them to manage their own e-commerce websites using Esquire’s infrastructure.
"We are definitely seeing that people and companies are feeling much more comfortable – and eager – to buy online," Cassim stated. "Revenue from online sales is already at 35% of our total revenue, and we expect this to rise to around 60% by 2025. We still have many clients that prefer to deal with our national sales teams to negotiate pricing or talk to a human or still prefer to walk into our Xpress Stores to touch and feel the products on the shelves, allowing them to quickly restock essential items."
Esquire Technologies' continuous innovation and expansion in the digital space position it as a leader in the industry, setting a benchmark for others to follow.
