rAge, the Really Awesome Gaming Expo, is just a week away from what promises to be another fantastic experience, jam-packed with cool tech.

VR

Visitors to rAge will get the chance to enjoy a live Virtual Reality Arena, thanks to RGB Gaming. This VR Arena will host two-on-two laser tag competitions with referees, converting the open space into an immersive virtual battlefield powered by the latest VR systems. 

Immerse yourself in VR with the Meta Quest 3 by African Technopreneurs on the Gigabyte Aorus stand or give the PSVR2 a whirl on the Koodoo stand.

The Raging Robots (by Raging River & Osiris Trading)

Raging River game studio will be hosting Raging Robots competitions over the weekend. Players can 'build' their own robots by dragging and dropping code to program the ultimate robot fighter. Bot-builders will submit their bots and sit back to watch them compete in pool matches, where they score points for wins. On Sunday, the 10th of December, at 11h00, the eight bots with the most points will fight against each other in a knockout-style tournament until the best three bots are determined. Prizes include an RTX 4080 Gigabyte Graphics Card, Corsair gaming chairs, and more. 

NAG Streaming Service 

NAG is the broadcast sponsor for rAge 2023, and the team will ensure that all three days are covered by a state-of-the-art camera set-up. NAG will be live streaming the entire event and have secured a top-tier mixing desk so that, for the first time, a television-level streaming service will be brought to fans who cannot make it in person. The livestreaming will include far more one-on-one interviews with streamers, cosplayers, esports winners, and fans. 

The Ultimate Racing Simulator

For racing sim enthusiasts there will be two Cooler Master Dyn X Dynamic Racing Experience Simulators, replete with actuators that move the rig around to better reflect a true racing experience. Fans can look forward to enjoying some epic motorsport gaming titles, such as Forza, Formula 1, and many more.

 

SMD Technologies

SMD Technologies is a leading player in the technology market, known for its commitment to quality and innovation. This year at rAge, SMD Technologies is showcasing various products from renowned brands such as Volkano, VX Gaming, Logitech, and Creality 3D printers. These 3D printers are designed for hobbyists and professionals, offering high precision, reliability, and ease of use. Attendees can witness the capabilities of these printers firsthand, demonstrating how they can bring creative ideas to life.

BYOC LAN

The BYOC LAN is South Africa's biggest bring-your-own-computer/console 24-hour 3-day celebration of gaming. More than 7km of network cabling and more than 1km of power cabling has been installed to create a bespoke power reticulation network so that the PCs are always on. There is also a generator backup. 

On the server side of things, Nutanix has addressed the need for performance, scalability, and availability by utilising hardware that supports multiple hardware configurations, multiple virtualisation hypervisors and multiple clouds. The Nutanix Prism management layer is a key differentiator, providing simplified end-to-end management for Nutanix environments.

Another long-standing partner of rAge on the switching side of things is Hewlett-Packard. The LAN will utilise extensive data from their fabric to turn it into intelligence, insight, and action, ensuring enhanced safety, security, speed, and stability.

LAN is only complete with internet, meaning low latency, high throughput and reliable bandwidth that allows the skills of the players, and not the connection, to determine the outcome of each virtual battle being fought. Clear Access, a full-service Internet Service Provider (ISP), is providing a staggering 30G internet pipe.

MSI

MSI has partnered with AMD to bring rAge visitors the opportunity to test out multiple AMD systems through triple-A gaming titles.

MSI will also have the latest and greatest MSI monitors on display as well as an exclusive showcasing of products launched during the Computex show this year. They will also run some of the latest titles on the newest MSI Intel® 13th gen gaming laptops and MSI Custom, mind-blowing builds.

AI

Get your AI creativity on and send a picture to the MSI Modern H series notebook on display at their stand and add an element to your picture using Adobe Photoshop’s AI Generative Fill tool. MSI will email your awesome creation back to you.

Visitors to the RGB Gaming stand will have an opportunity to create a render of themselves at their AI Booth.

Digital Art

The Animation School will host a drawing competition over all three days and give away three XPPen Deco Mini drawing tablets. Anyone is welcome to come to their stand and create a character incorporating their logo on an amazing XPPen Artist 22" professional display tablet.

Tech Gear

ASBIS Africa will be participating in rAge for the first time this year, showcasing ARKTEK, CANYON, and LORGAR brands. ASBIS Group is a leading Value Add Distributor, developer, and provider of ICT, IoT, and Robotic products, solutions, and services to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) markets.

Tech-Tock
