Submitted by: Tiffany Save to InstapaperThe Limpopo MEC of Health, Dr Phophi Ramathuba, and the South African Breastmilk Reserve (SABR), in partnership with sponsor Sostieni and the South African Civil Society for Women’s Adolescent’s and Children’s health, will launch the Limpopo Department of Health’s newly revamped staff breastfeeding and expressing room at the Department of Health Offices in Limpopo on Wednesday 01 August 2018.
The upgrades and equipment were sponsored by the SABR and Sostieni, in celebration of World Breast Feeding Week (01-07 August) and in support of the mandate that aids breastfeeding mothers at work. It is hoped that this room will set a precedent and an example of how to support breastfeeding women in the work place. Employers play an integral part in supporting working breastfeeding mothers by providing time and a dedicated space for breastfeeding and expressing at work. This in turn improves the long term quality of life for both mothers and children.Members of the media are invited to attend the launch in support of all breastfeeding mothers and babies in South Africa.
