In the heart of Sea Point,Home Suite Hotels proudly hosts a gem in the culinary world, Chef Bianca. With her exceptional culinary prowess, Bianca has transformed the hotel's dining experience into an exquisite journey of taste and elegance.
Born in Witbank, Bianca’s passion for cooking sparked early. Her culinary journey took a significant leap in 2013 when she competed in a prestigious cooking competition, clinching third place among 90 contenders. This achievement led to a bursary at the Protea Hotels In-Service traineeship program, where she honed her skills under the tutelage of renowned chefs.
Reflecting on her education, Bianca shares, "I studied at HTA School of Culinary Art in Johannesburg and qualified with an International City and Guild certificate. When I was 25, I became the Head Chef at The Royal Fischer and Anta Boga Hotel in Bloemfontein." Her impressive resume includes stints alongside culinary luminaries such as Adrian Vigus-Brown at esteemed hotels like the Protea Hotel Nelspruit and the African Pride Autograph Collection, Melrose Arch.
After getting married, Bianca and her husband travelled to Thailand for a few months as she aspired to learn about Thai culture and Asian cuisine. “Upon our return to South Africa, we began a new chapter, starting with a blank page. My husband received an offer to move to Cape Town and work for Home Suite Hotels. Fortunately, the company needed a chef to start the breakfast serving at our property on Main Drive in Sea Point, thus initiating my journey with Home Suite Hotels.”
At Home Suite Hotels Sea Point, Bianca's innovative culinary vision shines. Initially offering a continental breakfast, she expanded the menu to include a full English breakfast buffet. The culinary adventure doesn't stop there; Bianca recently launched an exciting lunch and dinner menu, incorporating comforting South African classics with her unique flair. Guests can indulge in local favourites like lamb bunny chow, steak gatsby, and delectable desserts such as malva pudding, berry cheesecake, and peppermint tart. Moreover, the hotel's dog-friendly nature is echoed in the pooch menu, with delightful offerings for canine companions as well as a friendly reception greeting from the in-house pooch, Katherine!
This boutique hotel's exclusive culinary experience is not just for staying guests but extends to their beloved pets, showcasing Bianca’s versatile and inclusive approach to dining. From takeaway picnic baskets to gourmet meals, the hotel ensures a memorable gastronomic experience for all.
