South Africa’s hottest new start-up launches BETA version.

Most of you have heard the word “kiff” before, probably on your last trip to Durban. It is South African slang for “cool.” Kiph (pronounced “kiff”) is a young South African start-up that is focused on giving South African’s the latest products from around the world.
The problem that South Africa faces is that it is pretty isolated. Stores usually stock products that are a season or two behind and we have to wait while the rest of the world enjoys the newest and coolest products before we get our hands on them.
Kiph eliminates that isolation. As the South African lifestyle department, Kiph aims to give South Africans the latest when it is still the latest. Kiph products are classified into the following categories:
- Style – things you wear.
- Gear – things you carry, throw, ride or play with.
- Tech – things that need a current.
- Groom – things you use to trim, cut, wash or shave with.
- Space – things that make spaces look cool.
- Media – things you read, watch or listen to.
The Kiph team sources products from around the globe, focusing on small designers and manufacturers who are passionate about what they do and driven to deliver top quality products. Products that aren’t made for the sake of being made but are well thought through, beautifully designed and meet that balance between form and function.
Kiph also backs local designers and manufacturers. Small South African designers are coming up with some fashionable, innovative, and well made products. Kiph is continually building its catalogue of locally produced products to ensure South Africans get a taste of the best local stuff.
Kiph launched its BETA site as it moves into the final stages of development.
