Questions Models Should Ask Potential Agencies
Written by: Lisl Whytock Save to Instapaper
When it comes to modelling interviews, many models fail to realise that, as much as the Agency is interviewing you, you should be interviewing the Agency. Just a few basic questions will help you to establish whether the Agency is reputable and if you are in good hands.
The Circle Model Management set our models apart by understanding their needs and providing them with a nurturing environment to thrive. We thoroughly appreciate models concerned about their well-being and suggest that models ask potential agencies the following questions before signing up with them.
Do I Have to Attend the Agency’s Modelling School? You don’t necessarily need to attend modelling classes to become a model. A good agency will never force you to attend their modelling classes if they have a modelling school.
What Size is the Agency? While it is great to land a contract with a large, well-known agency, remember that there will be a lot of competition between the models. If you are new to the modelling industry, you may want to consider starting with a smaller boutique-type agency.
Who are Some of the Clients? It is always worth asking this question to give you some insight into the reputation of the Agency, as well as the type of work their models do. This will help you to decide if the Agency is the right fit for your type of modelling objectives and your long-term goals.
What Type of Contract will I Sign?It is important to understand what type of contract the Agency will offer you and how you will make your money from them. You may need to invest in some initial costs such as comp cards, website profiles, photographic portfolios.
The Circle Model Management is a modelling agency in Cape Town that offers a portfolio of world-class local and international models and has worked on campaigns for Cartier, Issey Miyake, Ralph Lauren, Vogue, Elle, and Marie Claire, to name but a few.
