Pandora teams up with Pandora Muses to celebrate 20 years of collecting.
Two decades after Pandora launched its iconic Pandora Moments bracelet, the brand celebrates 20 years of collecting with Voices of Pandora, an international activation that will see consumers, Pandora super fans and Pandora Muses talk about the meaningful charms that represent their memorable firsts. The Pandora Muses, a global collective of inspiring women, reflecton how jewellery helps them tell their stories through style.
“Charms can capture the magic and nostalgia of a first-time experience,” says artist Tasya van Ree, who recalls early activities that fuelled her creativity, such as doodling and getting her first tattoo. Model and activist Halima Aden looks back on her own memorable firsts, from winning a gold medal for a grade school speech to becoming her town’s first Muslim homecoming queen. “I collect charms that symbolise important moments on my journey,” she says.
For model, dancer and actress Larsen Thompson, the music note and ballerina shoes charms honour her lifelong dedication to dance and music. “Collecting charms reminds us of who we are and what we’re passionate about,” saysThompson. Model and activist Georgia May Jagger collects pieces that evoke her own passions, nature and animals, like a flower charm for gardening or a dog charm to represent beloved pets.
Charms help keep special places close to your heart. The Statue of Liberty charm holds a special meaning for director, writer and consultant Margaret Zhang, “it represents the city where I learned to work hard and absorb others’ world views”.
For each of the women, charms are more than artfully designed jewellery; they’re a curated collection of symbols that represent who they are. “Collecting special objects allows you to keep important moments, ideas and connections close to your heart,” says van Ree.
From the goals they’re chasing to the experiences that have shaped them, the Pandora Muses collect objects as an ideal form of self- expression. “I like to collect things that remind me of a place, a feeling, or a time in life,” says actress Nathalie Emmanuel.
