Éluvane Atelier launches handmade sculptural candles and cast-plaster homeware in South Africa

Midrand, Johannesburg - Éluvane Atelier, a new South African studio creating handcrafted sculptural candles and cast-plaster homeware, has officially launched online at https://eluvane.co.za.

Founded by Livhuwani Mbulungeni, the studio hand-pours every candle in small batches and casts each homeware piece individually, offering nationwide delivery across South Africa with free collection in Midrand.

Made Slowly, By Hand

Éluvane Atelier creates two collections, both made entirely by hand.

Its sculptural candles are crafted from a natural blend of soy wax, beeswax, and a touch of coconut wax, finished with cotton wicks and phthalate-free fragrances, never paraffin.

The homeware collection is cast from premium gypsum plaster and includes trinket dishes, vessels, trays, and sculptural décor pieces in soft, chalky tones ranging from ivory to charcoal.

Every item is made in the studio's Midrand workshop.

Wax is heated slowly to preserve its quality, while fragrances are intentionally subtle, designed to complement a space rather than overpower it.

Each plaster piece is unmoulded, sanded, and finished by hand, making every item uniquely individual.

Slight variations in shape and texture are embraced as part of the handcrafted process, not imperfections.

A Slower Kind of Object

"I started Éluvane because I believe the small comforts of an evening, lighting a candle, setting a table, or running a bath, deserve objects that are made slowly and by hand. I wanted to create pieces that encourage people to slow down and appreciate the beauty of something crafted by a real person."
