Creative Collaborations Continue to Shine - Eponymous Joins Hermanna Rush

Eponymous leather joins Hermanna Rush on their runway show at SA Fashion Week SS2012.13

While fashion collaborations are not new they are currently a major trend across the fashion design landscape. Celebrities, fast-fashion high street stores and independent designers are all working together to pool creative talents, to enhance their brand strength and to increase exposure opportunities.

Eponymous leather featured for the first time at SA Fashion Week when they collaborated with the designers at Hermanna Rush who wanted to include leather in their SS2012.13 runway. Hermanna Rush’s inspiration – a broad re-interpretation of the international oceanic theme, translating into scalloped edges and flared flossed edges – was the starting point and Eponymous was asked to design pieces that would be visually complementary.

Amanda-Leigh O’Connell, head of Eponymous, says “The prints and colours at Hermanna Rush were the prefect foil for our pieces. My goals for this collaboration were to make sure that it looked cohesive on the runway, that our leather range had its own story, and that technically the leather was light and summery.”

Nicole Dersely of Hermanna Rush says “My vision for rose-infused nude leather as a projected trend in the range came to life working with Eponymous' skilled leather work.”

The feedback on the collaboration has been very positive and has certainly reaffirmed the notion that creative collaborations are important and constructive.
