Using the correct lubricant on a cycling bike is essential, especially for racing. There is a lot of action that takes place during a race and reliability and durability more than anything can either make or break a cyclist’s plan for winning a race.
Lauren Dance of the BestMed ASG women’s cycling team says when riding in a peloton and suddenly there is a break away, the first indication will always come from the sound of the gears changing and chain noises. “Fuchs’ Silkolene lubricants minimise the noise, making the transition smooth, surprising the opponents with a sudden move,” she said.
“The Silkolene lubricants’ high penetration produces low friction which smooths and quietens- the bike’s chain movement. It also provides long life and leaves the chain free from grit and grime, ensuring lasting protection of the components,” she said. Before or after a race, cyclists will more than often forget to lubricate their chains. Using Silkolene before each race means there is no need to lubricate again.
“The Silkolene range of wet, dry and everyday lubes have made my life as a cyclist easy. After a day of racing, all I need to do is lubricate the bike, spray on the Fuchs wash off to rid the bike of grit and mud, and after a rinse I’m ready to be back on the road again without any hassles,” said Michelle Benson, rider in women’s team.
“The Fuchs Silkolene range is developed to ensure ultimate performance and protection,” said John Anderson, automotive & OEM manager Fuchs Lubricants South Africa.
“Silkolene is designed to meet the specific needs of both bike and rider. Dedicated products are developed for every type of bicycle, motorcycle and scooter, whether they are used for commuting, touring, racing or pleasure,” he said.
Fuchs sponsors the BestMed ASG Multihull team, a women’s cycling team established in 2013 with a range of Fuchs Silkolene products. The team actively participate in both road and mountain biking races.
