Help Sustainable Ceder Secure Vital Funding by Voting in the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) Initiative
Submitted by: Sustainable Ceder Save to Instapaper
South Africa’s Sustainable Ceder has been shortlisted for funding in the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) initiative. Funding will be decided by a public vote, which is currently open. With just a few clicks, you can help this remarkable organisation secure the resources they need to continue their vital conservation work.
EOCA supports grassroots conservation projects worldwide, protecting wild places and wildlife through initiatives ranging from forest restoration to habitat conservation and ecotourism. Seventeen conservation projects from across the globe, spanning three categories, have been shortlisted for this amazing opportunity. Voting is open until 14 April 2025.
Why Your Vote Matters
"This funding would be a game-changer for us," says Dawie Burger, Founder of Sustainable Ceder. "It would allow us to accelerate our tree-planting initiatives, improve our tracking capabilities, and expand our educational outreach. Every vote brings us one step closer to our goal of preserving and restoring the Cederberg’s natural heritage."
A small effort from you can unlock substantial funding for Sustainable Ceder’s transformative conservation projects. If successful in the EOCA vote, Sustainable Ceder plans to:
- Expand Their Nursery Project: Increasing the capacity to cultivate native trees for large-scale planting initiatives.
- Create Planting Equipment: Designing and acquiring tools to make reforestation efforts more efficient and impactful.
- Intensify Tree Planting Initiatives: Scaling up efforts to restore natural habitats in the Cederberg region.
- Purchase Equipment for Better Tracking and Data Collection: Enhancing the monitoring of reforestation progress and ecological impacts.
- Education Drives: Raising awareness about conservation and sustainable practices within local communities.
- Community Involvement: Empowering communities to actively participate in the restoration and protection of their natural environments.
