ARB Holdings Acquires Majority Interest in Metro Prepaid

ARB Holdings (Pty) Ltd (“ARB”) has acquired a majority interest in Metro Prepaid (Pty) Ltd (“Metro Prepaid”), a Cape Town-based provider of prepaid electricity, water and gas sub-metering solutions. With Metro Prepaid operating in a closely aligned market, the acquisition represents a strong strategic fit for the ARB Group.

Commenting on the acquisition, Blayne Burke, CEO of ARB Holdings, said:

Metro Prepaid was founded in 2015 by Iain Clarke and Simon Tippett, initially implementing sub-metering solutions within their own commercial properties. The business has since expanded to support landlords, property owners and managing agents with managing utility consumption and recovering electricity and water costs from tenants.

Today, Metro Prepaid provides a comprehensive range of prepaid electricity, water and gas metering solutions. Its offering is supported by a 24-hour customer help desk that assists customers and end users with meter registration, token purchases and ongoing support.

Founders Simon Tippett and Iain Clarke will remain actively involved in Metro Prepaid and its continued growth.
