Webber Wentzel Supports Growth Strategy with Key Senior Appointments

These latest hires are in line with the firm's growth strategy, and follow closely on the heels of a number of recent strategic appointments - demonstrating the firm's commitment to strengthening its client value proposition. In the last year, Webber Wentzel has made over 10 senior appointments.
Both women, these new appointments will increase the number of female partners to 62, which is 41.33% of the partner body - an indication of the strength of the firm's commitment to gender diversity.

Webber Wentzel welcomes Kathryn Gawith
Kathryn Gawith, a graduate of the University of Cape Town (UCT), joins the Dispute Resolution practice in Johannesburg. She is a senior litigator and brings specialised knowledge in relation to auditor liability and related regulatory issues, increasing the depth and range of Webber Wentzel’s dispute resolution offering to clients.
Kathryn joins Webber Wentzel from Norton Rose Fullbright, where she was a director in their Disputes practice. During this time, she worked extensively with a host of audit and advisory firms.
Webber Wentzel welcomes back to Alexia Christie
Alexia Christie is welcomed back into the fold at Webber Wentzel, having left the firm in 2011 to join Naspers (a key client of the firm), where she held positions of MIH Internet: Head of Legal (Africa and Middle East), as well as Group Internet Counsel.
Alexia will be based in Webber Wentzel’s Cape Town office, where her extensive experience in the TMT sector will bolster and support the TMT practice's growth and development in meeting the needs of the rapidly growing sector.
Alexia's experience spans over 16 years in areas such as information technology, internet and consumer protection. Also a graduate of UCT, Alexia is admitted as a solicitor of England and Wales and is currently studying towards her LLM in IP Law at the University of Stellenbosch.
