Webber Wentzel partner, Ziyanda Ntshona was awarded Woman Professional of the Year at the 2019 South African Professional Services Academy (SAPSA) awards. The SAPSA awards, sponsored by Sanlam, were established in 2014 to promote professionalism in the professional services industry and they provide a platform for interaction across disciplines. The winners are were judged based on a host of attributes including demonstration of leadership skills, changing of paradigms and innovation within the bounds of available resources. A comment from one of the judges: "Ziyanda is undo ubtedly a great contributor to both the company she works for and the profession to which she belongs. She has an impressive profile having been recently appointed to the 14 member board of one of South Africa’s largest professional services organisations. We absolutely loved her attitude of breaking down the unfair presumption of incompetence that the SA corporate environment places on black female professionals. Furthermore, we were impressed by her participation in assisting the disadvantaged in her hometown through the Ubuntu Pathways NGO…"
