Webber Wentzel continues to attract the best talent
Submitted by: MyPressportal Team[October 2016]: Webber Wentzel has announced the appointment of seasoned tax specialist, Des Kruger, who is rejoining the firm with effect from 1 November 2016.
Kruger, who was previously a partner in the firm's tax practice, brings a wealth of experience and expertise that spans across various areas of taxation, including international tax, corporate tax, VAT, capital gains tax and employees tax.

Des re-joins Webber Wentzel from SARS, where he spent three years as a Specialist Consultant providing advice in regard to complex taxation issues in the Legal and Policy Divivision. Des commenced his tax career in the late 1970s and has since then provided pertinent advice in regard to a myrid of tax issues, including negotiating with SARS in relation to necessary amendments to the law and resolving conflicts.
His academic credentials include a Master's Degree in Taxation (LLM) and International Tax Programme Certificate (both from Harvard University), a BCom. LLB (UKZN) and Higher Diploma in Taxation (Wits).
Des has received a number of local and international accolades, including being named one of the top tax consultants in South Africa by the prestigious International Tax Review as well as Best Lawyers and The Legal Media Group Guide to the World's Leading Tax Advisors, respectively. He was awarded ‘Lawyer of the Year: Tax 2010’ by Best Lawyer.
