Voices in Business – Listen to the voice of our Entrepreneurs!
Submitted by: MyPressportal TeamVIB is an interactive business show that will redefine the typical standard of approach in communicating business news. Young, Fresh and Exciting (YFE) is in our DNA.
To be at the pulse of the most industrialized African country can be disheartening. As the design of our business and its models are so often based on the western world pattern of engagement. Entrepreneurs need to understand the challenges of an ordinary consumer and start finding solutions that would be rendered business sense and beneficial. You need to be at the breadth of their excitement and be the pulse of their concerns. Due to a history filled with discrimination and racial exclusivity, the majority of the nation finds themselves distant from the country’s financial and business world. Often business shows are over elaborative and address everyday issues in a language that is complicated and highly sophisticated to an overwhelming majority.
Statistics South Africa two years ago revealed that only 6% of South Africans have a basic understanding of their finances and retirement planning, not only that but the resources are often futile and create an increasingly hostile environment for our young people to contemplate. This has largely lead to the consumer failing to plan appropriately towards retirement and being victims of pyramid schemes and bad financial instruments.
Financial literacy is paramount in turning the issues that affect South Africans, however it needs to be executed in a simple business language that will benefit all across different backgrounds.
VIB will articulate markets, investment and business news in a simple format that many South Africans will enjoy. It is a fun filled show that touches people’s everyday lives and provides practical ways to enhance their financial knowledge and understanding. The show will have a host of tried and tested business people, sharing their successes and failures, advising on the tricks of their trade and sourcing of finance.
The show will bring together all spheres of business structures, articulating the message clearly for our young entrepreneurs to be inspired. We have invited government and labor to be part of the show, they will concentrate on identifying programs and support structures provided by financial development institutes.
Why Soweto Theatre?
In recent years Soweto has overturned its history of a violent society and a scar of racial segregation. It has become the place to be, whether for tourism, entertainment or just to wine and dine. All these activities would not have been made possible without the resilience of the entrepreneurs who rose to the
occasion and braved the tough lines of business in the area. It is therefore fitting to have such an event at a place that personifies the spirit of entrepreneurship and its diversity.
Seasoned market commentator and entrepreneur Mr. Clive “Ntozabantu” Ramathibela will host the show. Clive is a market and investment analyst who combines his peculiar crassness and financial knowledge makes for a fresh and exciting business show. At 31 years of age, Clive brings a youthful twist to the traditionally old and grey business theme. With his signature greeting halaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaala, Clive has introduced an emphatic, precise and an exciting perspective to business.
