Visa and MyGate Partner to Expand Visa Checkout
Submitted by: MyPressportal Team Save to InstapaperVisa Inc., a global payments technology company, has partnered with online payments leader MyGate to process Visa Checkout in South Africa.
Managing Director of MyGate, Dan Edmiston said: “We’re very pleased to be partnering with Visa as we aim to create enjoyable online payment experiences that are secure and simple for customers to navigate. Customers will also benefit from the simplified checkout process.”
Consumers store their shipping and payment information in a secure account with Visa once and, after enrolment, customers can complete any future purchases in just a few clicks by entering their user name and password. Visa Checkout also offers a consistent experience across devices.
James Simpson, Visa Country Manager for South Africa said: “Visa recognizes that nobody enjoys filling out field after field of personal information every time they make a purchase on their phones or tablets. Visa Checkout takes all the pain out of paying for goods and services online, and keeps your personal information safe and secure so you can shop on the internet with confidence.”
MyGate is Level 1 PCI certified, making the online payment processor one of the most secure payment gateway platforms for merchants in Africa. Connected to all major banks, merchants integrating to MyGate can now accept Visa Checkout as a new payment method. Visa Checkout utilizes existing payment processes and requires only a few HTML and JavaScript tags.
Since its launch less than a year ago, more than seven million customers have signed up for Visa Checkout accounts in 16 countries including South Africa.
Said Simpson: “We are looking forward to partnering with MyGate to help drive quicker and much more convenient online payments in South Africa.”
