Debt Counselling has come a long way over the last 7 years and hundreds of thousands of consumers have entered the process to deal with their debt. Finding a good debt counsellor is important in consumers successfully getting help with  debt. At present half of all credit active consumers are missing payments on their debts. Now the debt review industry has it's own awards program which helps identify the companies doing a great job in helping consumers and their creditors come to new payment agreement through debt review. It is called the Debt Review Awards. The awards recognise hard work and excellence in the field of debt review by, not only, debt counsellors but also those creditors cooperating with the process.  

Founder Zak King says:" People get to see who is having a positive impact on the industry. Nobody is perfect but these firms are trying hard and now with the awards get the recognition they deserve".  

This year creditors such as: Finchoice, Get Bucks, Izwe loans and Consumer Friend have been nominated alongside banks such as Capitec, African Bank, Standard Bank, Nedbank and FNB. The focus is on their debt review departments and how they interact with consumers and debt counsellors. Debt Counselling firms have also been nominated in various size categories. Firms like Debtbusters, Octogen, Debt Safe and Debt Rescue have all been nominated and stand a chance to win at the modest Debt Review Awards gala on the 13th of June.
