24 March 2021, Johannesburg- Old Mutual scored two unique international achievements this week when it became the only South African company to win an award in the prestigious 2020-2021 World Branding Awards competition and took its place alongside the world’s top 450 brands.
The achievement, also unique for an insurer, was announced at Kensington Palace, London, on Wednesday evening (17 March 2021). It was here that the results of the worldwide competition that involved 4 000 brands from more than 45 countries were made public, said a delighted Andisa Ntsubane, Head of Marketing Strategy and Planning for Old Mutual.
The 12th annual World Branding Awards is now regarded as one of the premier events on the world’s marketing calendar. Adding to the significance of the World Branding Awards in the branding arena is their stringent voting criteria that take account of a business valuation, market research and public online voting in all the countries taking part.
“We are delighted about our success in this prestigious international arena, which comes eight months after Old Mutual was acknowledged as one of South Africa’s most valuable brands by Brand Finance South Africa. Both awards reaffirm Old Mutual’s commitment to being our customer’s first choice, in South Africa, across the continent and internationally,” Ntsubane said.
