“We’ve noted an encouraging trend of local entrepreneurs establishing beauty brands on the KZN South Coast, which are gaining traction in the skincare market,” said Dr Vusumuzi Sibiya, CEO of South Coast Tourism and Investment Enterprise (SCTIE).
Dr Sibiya highlighted the role of the region’s natural assets in supporting brands that appeal to a market prioritising organic ingredients and sustainable practices. He emphasised, “Now’s the time to invest in beauty brands on the KZN South Coast as these ventures continue to grow.”

Three women-led brands, all members of SCTIE’s Buy Local Campaign, are shaping the local beauty industry:
Good to Glow Beauty & Cosmetics
Located in Umzumbe, this brand offers skincare and haircare products addressing both cosmetic and medical concerns.
- Founder: Sinegugu Cele
- Unique Vision: “We aim to ensure that at least one of our products is a staple in every home across the globe!”
- Growth Plans: Good to Glow seeks retail outlets to expand its market and enhance manufacturing facilities. Cele notes, “Starting out on the KZN South Coast allows us to build trust locally while scaling our brand globally.”
Obendalo Organics
Based in Port Shepstone, this brand manufactures 100% organic skincare products, emphasising sustainability.
- Products: Charcoal and tea tree face bars, rosewater toners, and healing night serums.
- Value-Add: Free facials for customers and extensive training for sales staff to ensure strong product knowledge and customer relationships.
Zurii Skin
A premium ethical skincare brand offering high-quality products such as Hemp Cleanser Soap, Anti-Damage Serum, and Sunblock. These products are crafted with natural ingredients for a local market.
