1. Offer Cash on Delivery (COD) – so customers only pay when they receive their order.

2. Build our own delivery team – to ensure reliable service from start to finish.

Cash on Delivery: A Simple Yet Powerful Shift

At first, Cash on Delivery wasn’t the most convenient option for us. It required extra logistics, driver coordination, and a secure process to handle payments. But it was exactly what South African shoppers needed. COD meant:

Customers didn’t have to risk their money upfront.

They could physically inspect the product before paying.

First-time buyers felt more comfortable placing an order.

The impact was immediate. More people started shopping with confidence, and word spread quickly. COD wasn’t just a payment method—it became a statement that SA Depot was trustworthy.

Building a Delivery Team from the Ground Up

Rather than relying only on third-party couriers, we built our own delivery network. We started with a team of 5 to 6 drivers in Johannesburg and 3 in Cape Town—people who knew the areas, understood our standards, and could ensure smooth deliveries.

This approach gave us full control over the process:
