Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry eThekwini Municipality KZN Woman in Business Conference
Written by: Save to InstapaperThe Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry is delighted to announce that it will be hosting the KZN Women in Business Conference, in partnership with the eThekwini Municipality, Old Mutual & Business Partners.
Thato Tsautse, the President of the Chamber who has championed this project, said: “This will be a special occasion for women in business who have so much to contribute towards the development of business and the growth of the economy.”
The Conference theme is INSPIRE, ENRICH, IGNITE and will culminate in the evening with the “Women of Excellence” awards dinner on the 3rd of August 2012, Elangeni Hotel.
Topics covered will include:
Sisterhood, Against All odds, An Entrepreneur’s path to success, Financial wellbeing, Spirituality, Health : The Cancer Scare and a women’s role in the reduction of HIV/AIDS, Business Opportunities, Personal Brand Philosophy
Esteemed speakers include inter alia:
- First Lady, Dr May Mkhize on the topic of Sisterhood
- Dr Helga Holst , CEO McCords Hospital
- Timothy Webster – Personal Brand
- Kumari Moodley – Old Mutual
The session on business opportunities will take the form of a panel discussion and include the following entities on the panel:
Transnet, PRASA, eThekwini Business Support Unit, National Empowerment Fund, DTI, Business Partners, Old Mutual
This project is a start of an annual event and aims to LEAVE A LEGACY.
At this conference, a bursary fund will be launched whereby women will be the contributors towards the fund. A KZN Women in Business directory is also being produced. A Centre for Women is part of the legacy plans going forward.
In order to make this event accessible to as to many women as possible, we seek the support of KZN Business to help ensure the success of the KZN Women in Business Conference so that it will be recognised as a significant event on the Durban business calendar.
