The AIE conference also recognized Delphine Traoré, CEO of SanlamAllianz General Insurance, for her groundbreaking role as the first black female president of the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA) from 2015 to 2017. This achievement holds historical significance, marking a significant milestone in gender equality and serving as a symbol of progress in breaking down barriers for women in leadership roles.

Thokozile Mahlangu, CEO of IISA, emphasized the importance of Delphine's presidency, stating, "Having a black female president provided representation, indicated the industry's commitment to transformation, ensured a diversified perspective and approach to leadership within the insurance industry and the financial services sector.
