Written by: Save to Instapaper
Que Pasa Dance Studio is the first and oldest salsa studio in South Africa that opened it's doors in 2001 with John Morrison at the helm, and Liza Rossi, who recently joined as his dance partner. They have 20 years combined professional dance experience and share the same passion for latin dance.
Their hearts are entrenched in the communities, and this year they are hosting their 11th annual Christmas charity, Toys for Tots dance event on Friday, 14 December at 9pm at La Parada, Bree Street, Cape Town. Patrons attending the salsa party will bring a toy along in exchange for paying a cover charge. The Que Pasa team will then hand deliver all the toys to their charity, the Emasithandane Children's Home in Nyanga, who has over 30 kids suffering with TB and HIV/AIDS.
John says, "Que Pasa aims to provide the best dance tuition in Cape Town at the most reasonable price, giving everyone access to learn and have fun doing it. We bring people together from all walks of life, and create a family vibe to nurture the love for Afro-Latin music and dance".
John continues, "Our vision is to build a strong community of quality qualified dance teachers, DJ's, performers and to create sustainability and job opportunities in this sector, by providing teacher training programs, performance courses and developing DJ’s who are passionate about their craft".
The Que Pasa family is continously expanding, they are sharing their passion for dance and festive cheer with a sensational Summer Loyalty Special, it includes Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, Swing and Lindy Hop dance classes, from Mondays to Thursdays, for only R500.00 (36 classes valued at R3 600.00) for a limited period to make it accessible for everyone join.
You can meet the Que Pasa team at their regular parties on a Fridays and Sundays, where students practice their skills with other dancers. Que Pasa is more than just a dance studio, it's a gateway to fostering great friendships and meeting diverse fun people.
