TASA 'Enabling for Tomorrow' for Tooling at Afrimold 2013

Written by: Save to Instapaper

Johannesburg, May 2013 – In an effort to boost momentum for the South African manufacturing industry, this year’s AfriMold Conference, aptly co-hosted by the Tooling Association of South Africa (TASA), is set to address critical issues in the industry and pave the way towards improved production standards to enable local companies in the design, precision engineering and machining, tooling, production, and application development sectors to compete on a global scale.

TASA is proud to be co-host to the AfriMold 2013 Conference at this year’s 4th annual exhibition which will be held at the NASREC Expo Centre from 4-6 June 2013. The conference will present invaluable opportunities for both toolmakers and buyers of tooling products to network with key players in the industry and gain access to insight into the various training initiatives currently taking place under the scope of TASA’s mission to revitalise the tool, die and mould making industry.

The two-day conference will expose toolmakers to management and TASA support systems which will assist them in becoming more efficient and profitable, and will introduce visitors to the mechanics of raising IDC funding, initiatives to boost Toolmaking Enterprise Development, and technological advancements for machine tool and tooling suppliers. Among the many highlights, TASA CEO, Henk Snyman, will be giving a critical presentation on the second day of the conference which will include an important announcement on clustering in the industry. This key announcement is expected to make a significant impact on the industry in its entirety and anyone and everyone who is actively involved in manufacturing is encouraged to attend.

However, for delegates who are unable to attend the conference portion of the event, TASA will also be setting up a stand at the AfriMold Trade Fair Exhibition (Stand F32). At the stand, TASA will be featuring a sample of successfully introduced visual shop floor management systems and a video presentation of a tooling process simulation. They will also exhibit locally manufactured tooling of various types, as well as CAD and machining done by students who are being trained by the National Tooling Initiative Programme (NTIP). In addition, TASA’s legal consultant will be available to provide legal advice and contract management assistance.

Now more than ever, local toolmakers need to seek out the support of TASA to improve their performance for their own benefit as well as for that of the South African manufacturing industry as a whole. As the only event that focusses on this critical aspect, AfriMold offers an integral platform to achieve these goals in order to make local manufacturing more viable and productive.

ABOUT TASA:
