PI SouthAfrica has created the FreeFlow of Traffic FreeFlow

Traffic FreeFlow and their Pointsmen started operations in Johannesburg in 2005, but it was only with the introduction of PI® SouthAfrica, that the vital link between the job output of the pointsmen and the talent required for the position was achieved with great precision and objectivity.

Only once Traffic FreeFlow completed the PI® performance requirement option™ (PRO), it was discovered that the profile required for the position was the complete opposite to the profile initially thought to be suitable. “We thought we needed a person with a high ability to exert influence and take command of an intersection,” says Traffic Freeflow Owner, Colleen Bekker. “In fact, what we actually needed was someone very compliant and by the book.”

This is one of the core outputs of the PRO as PI® SouthAfrica Licensee, Chantal Walley explains, “The PI® survey has evolved Traffic FreeFlow by providing the understanding of specific behaviours that lead to the most effective performance in a particular job. We see ourselves as a vehicle that continuously provides Traffic FreeFlow with the skills, insights and knowledge to meet the expectations of great employees. Only once this was accomplished, did Traffic FreeFlow build the capacity to sustain future growth.”

PI® has had the effects of stabilising the company culture at Traffic FreeFlow and bringing this team together. “We’re not overstaffing and we are giving people positions that they are most effective in. We are running at a high level of efficiency – we’re lean and we’re mean, and it’s working,” concludes Bekker.
