Ladles of Love Christmas goodwill in the City
Submitted by: MyPressportal TeamOn Christmas Day, Ladles of Love’s city based Dignity Kitchen is catering a special hot lunch to the displaced and destitute people of Cape Town. The organisation has been inundated by volunteers wanting to be in service to others at this time of giving, which in itself is a great sign of goodwill.
A hundred volunteers will be tasked up - some to prepare and plate the meal, whilst the rest will set up, serve and wait on the tables of those less fortunate. Many volunteers are international visitors, joined by locals and supported by those who work with the Ladles of Love on a regular basis, aptly called ‘love activists’. These kind hearted folk share a common goal – to restore dignity to people in need by providing a delicious meal with love and respect.
Ladles of Love’s founder, Danny Diliberto recently asked the public to assist in donating 1,000 homemade cupcakes as a special treat to the homeless. Known for their legendary sandwich drive during the Covid pandemic, the Ladles of Love supporter base has risen to the occasion and hundreds of beautiful Christmas cupcakes are arriving at their kitchen in response to his request.
The Roeland Street operation is just one of the hundreds of Dignity Kitchens in impoverished communities of the Western Cape, Northern Cape and Gauteng that are preparing meals to serve over the festive season. This food relief is funded by the Ladles of Love’s ‘Fill-A-Pot’ campaign, which is simply buying a voucher from their online store for R300 to feed 100 people a meal over the festive season.
Uplifting families in communities with food and providing hope at this time of year is the kindest gift you can give. Should you wish to support the ‘Fill-A-Pot’ campaign and or sign up to join the growing number of Love Activists as a volunteer visit: LadlesofLove.org.za
As a PBO, Ladles of Love is qualified to issue section 18A Tax certificates to all Individuals and companies buying two or more Fill-A-Pot vouchers from their online store.

Ladles of Love
Ladles of Love is a non-profit organisation which aims to provide meals to people living in abject poverty across the Cape Peninsula, Overstrand, Northern Cape and Gauteng. The project is the brainchild of Danny Diliberto, who started his first soup kitchen in 2014 serving hundreds of homeless people in Cape Town nutritious meals every week. During the Covid-pandemic the organisation grew exponentially, to be one of the largest non-profit providers of food relief in South Africa, serving impoverished communities via a network of 200 soup kitchens. Since March 2020 Ladles of Love has procured and provided food to serve over 41 million meals and continues to feed 35,000 people a day, relying solely on funding and donations.
