Ladles of Love Calls for 6 700 Volunteers This Mandela Day to Help Feed & Support Vulnerable Communities

17 July 2023 – This Mandela Day, 18 July 2023, Ladles of Love aims to mobilise 6 700 volunteers to join them on a mission to create essential items to provide to children in early childhood development centres in poorer communities. Ladles of Love is a charity organisation that provides nutritious, wholesome food and other essential items to communities in need, with particular focus on children and other vulnerable groups.

With humble beginnings as a single soup kitchen in Cape Town, Ladles of Love has now grown to several soup kitchens located in both the Western Cape and Gauteng, serving hundreds of thousands of people in need.

Over and above the basic need of food, nutrition and essential supplies, the foundation is passionate about helping to restore dignity and respect to those who have fallen on hard times. As part of sustainability and empowerment efforts aimed at helping people to thrive physically, emotionally and spiritually; Ladles of Love provides an ecosystem for food entrepreneurs to start and grow businesses that create jobs and contribute to the community and the economy.

The support of both businesses and individuals helps Ladles of Love to continue and grow the assistance that they provide to communities, schools and other non-profit organisations. This Mandela Day, Ladles of Love calls upon volunteers to join them in helping to uplift these vulnerable groups through the following initiatives:
