Pretoria, 5 November, 2014 - Making All Voices Count has partnered with Yowzit to provide a rating & review system to improve public service delivery in South Africa. It applies its successful private sector model to the public sector with a view to motivating government responsiveness and citizen engagement. This 12 month pilot worth R709 632.30 focuses on South Africa’s Home Affairs Department, South African Revenue Service, Airports Company South Africa and the Post Office.
Yowzit for Government allocates part of its funding to monitoring data accuracy and the authenticity of reviews. Its internet/mobile platform will enable government to access citizen feedback, monitor and benchmark performance and identify gaps in service. Citizens can use Yowzit for Government as a way to share key information about government procedures, benefits, rules and regulations, events, relevant services, and information for family and friends.
Yowzit for Government is an ideal way to close the feedback loop between citizens and government. Using sophisticated yet simple-to-use technology, citizens and governments can enter into a dialogue to improve the quality of government services. Citizens engage through the sharing of content such as ratings & reviews. This project’s innovation lies in its simplicity; the platform is technologically advanced, yet easy to use and requires no specialised training or costly equipment.
