GREAT NEWS!!! Nigerian and South African Coaching Leaders Unite for Continental Transformation

In a historic move, the Life Coaches Association of Nigeria (LCAN) and the African Board of Consultants, Coaches, and Coaching Psychologists (ABCCCP) have joined forces to establish a transformative alliance aimed at advancing the coaching profession across the African continent.

LCAN, the leading professional body for coaching in Nigeria, has been instrumental in creating standardized platforms for coaching practices, accreditation and fostering a network for trained coaches. On the other hand, ABCCCP, Africa's premier quality assurance body, has been ensuring the highest levels of ethics and excellence for coaches, psychologists in coaching, and organizational consultants. Together, their unique strengths will drive the coaching profession in Africa to new heights.

LCAN and ABCCCP share a common goal of developing and promoting standards for coaches, consultants, coaching psychologists, and therapists as part of a broader consulting and coaching framework across Africa.

"South Africa and Nigeria are two of the largest economies in Africa, and therefore, this collaboration makes sense,” said Dr. Mongezi C. Makhalima, ABCCCP's President. “The ABCCCP-LCAN partnership is inevitable and creates access to continuous professional development for practitioners across the continent. This is good for leaders in all spheres of life," he added.

The collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signifies a commitment to establishing a sustainable alliance that will propel the coaching profession to new heights. Both parties intend to maintain and actively seek collaborations with professional bodies worldwide, enhancing members' access to global organizations and fostering participation in research and best practice initiatives.

"This alliance represents a significant step forward for our continent," said Dr Lanre Olusola, Chairman of the LCAN Board of Trustees, emphasizing the broader vision. "Our collective efforts will not only advance the coaching profession but also contribute to the growth and development of the entire African consulting and coaching ecosystem. We aim to create a robust framework that elevates the standards and ethics of coaching and consulting practices across Africa."
