Foschini launches campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

With breast cancer being the most common cancer amongst women worldwide, Foschini is launching “Courage to Conquer” for Breast Cancer Awareness Month – October – to make a stand together, as women, against the epidemic that is sweeping the globe.
To amplify the Courage to Conquer campaign, Foschini has teamed up with organisations such as Look Good…Feel Better, Reach for Recovery, and CancerVive to unite 11 breast cancer survivors to openly share their story and encourage other women in South Africa to be bold and find the courage within them.
These beautiful, confident women will be displayed in all Foschini stores across the country, whilst all digital platforms will be exposing the reality of their past in their battle with breast cancer and what motivated them to conquer it.
In 2015, Foschini joined forces with Fashion Friends (Foschini brand ambassadors) to launch their “Feel Yourself, Feel a Friend” campaign throughout stores and media channels across South Africa, sharing the stories of women who either had or have been impacted by breast cancer. The ladies at Foschini encouraged friends to pledge and check their breasts in their #pledgepink books in stores, or digitally on Facebook – taking an often intimidating experience and making it fun.
To further spread the message, customers were encouraged to challenge a friend to make the pledge too and share the movement on social media using the #thinkpink, #pledgepink, and #foschini hashtags.
The Foschini brand has become a platform for real, passionate, generous and vibrant women. The brand focuses on a variety of challenges in South African society, breast cancer being one of them. Through their “Courage to Conquer” campaign, Foschini is able to drive awareness and tell these stories.
“By continuing to #pledgepink and #thinkpink, customers are helping to emphasize the importance of early detection and women being aware of their cancer status,” says Foschini brand manager, Naeema Cassimjee.
