Jehovah’s Witnesses Host 3‑Day Eternal Happiness Convention Expected To Boost Economy By Over 200 Million Rand

International Convention to Bring Over 200 million Rand Boost to the Economy At a time when happiness eludes many, Jehovah’s Witnesses are inviting the public to attend their international convention with the theme “Eternal Happiness.” This free 3-day event will take place at Gallagher Convention Centre, Midrand, Pretoria from 28 to 30 August. The Witnesses are one of the largest non-profit convention organisers in the world, and this convention is expected to draw 20, 000 attendees each day over the three days. Included are 6,000 international visitors from over 35 countries. An estimated 200 million rand will be generated for the country as international visitors will spend a minimum of two weeks in South Africa.

Hotels, local shops, BnBs and tourist destinations in Gauteng and Northwest Province are set to experience an increased volume of tourists. The official three-day programme will explore how everlasting happiness can be achieved through spirituality, founded on practical Bible principles. “Who doesn’t want to be happy?” said Mzamo Goloda, national spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses in South Africa. “This year’s convention theme discusses how to be happy and how to remain happy. All in attendance will discover the real joy that comes from a solid hope for the future.”

Bible-based programme highlights

Along with Bible-based videos and interviews, the “Eternal Happiness” convention will present intriguing discourses with topics such as: Abundant Happiness Forever — Is It Realistic? Why Are You Anxious? Have You Discovered the Treasure?

The much-anticipated Episodes 4, 5, and 6 of “The Good News According to Jesus” will debut on consecutive days of the convention. The 18-episode video series is an accurate depiction of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ and is based solely on the Gospel accounts. Episode 1 was released during the 2024 conventions and Episodes 2 and 3 in 2025. The Saturday programme also includes a baptism segment.

Worldwide convention details

Worldwide, Jehovah’s Witnesses will host over 6,000 regional conventions in nearly 450 languages with the theme “Eternal Happiness.” This includes 19 international conventions held in 17 countries. Over 13 million people are expected to attend.
