UbuntuDeal’s high quality keeps them tops

In a popular and growing industry, UbuntuDeal.co.za has released statistics about their database and has proven that over 98% of their vendors return to do business with them. Other numbers include a ratio of almost 1:1 in terms of purchases versus people on their website.

UbuntuDeal was launched in November 2010 as an online company that provides a platform for vendors to promote their businesses, brands, services and products, while at the same time offering consumers great deals and specials on a daily basis. In this short span of time, the company has grown in popularity, so much so that it caught the attention of the leading online marketplace in Africa – BidorBuy.co.za, who earlier this year decided to acquire UbuntuDeal and add the company to their portfolio.

Since its initial launch, UbuntuDeal has expanded into all major cities in South Africa. “We’ve grown at a strong pace, and recent research into our client base has shown almost all of our business clients returning, and on average almost all of our customers buying something.” says Ondine Mond, Senior Sales Consultant at UbuntuDeal’s head office. Companies offer deals on various products and services such as restaurants, cafés, beauty salons, holiday accommodations, adventure activities, etc and are always on the lookout for the best offering for their customers. In return, advertising on UbuntuDeal gives businesses access to new high value consumers in a very short space of time.

Managing Director Jess Green explains: “We differentiate our service from other websites in our industry by working more closely with our business clients, and allowing them to choose a capacity that they are able to cope with. This ensures a better quality of service for both the vendor and the consumer, which is reflected in our database and site traffic.”

An example of how businesses benefit would be a campaign run for a restaurant, San Marco, at Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront – it brought in over 1,800 new quality customers. Due to the way in which the deal was managed and through UbuntuDeal's various marketing channels, they were able to receive feedback from the buyers of this deal, who thoroughly enjoyed the experience and are now regular customers of San Marco.
