Lebone Marang and Summer, in partnership with brand ambassador Tebogo “Mr TAP” Poopedi, is proud to announce his nomination for the Icons of Africa Awards 2026 in the Motivational Speaker category.
Johannesburg, 15 May 2026 - The awards ceremony will take place on 30 May 2026 at the Sandton Hotel in Johannesburg.
Tebogo Poopedi, known as Mr TAP, grew up in Soweto and lost his sight at the age of 14.
Since then, he has built a life marked by resilience, purpose, and service.
He is the founder of Skills Village Radio, a platform created to amplify the voices and stories of people with disabilities across South Africa and beyond.
He is also known as South Africa’s first blind rapper, a motivational speaker, a broadcaster, and a sportsman who completed a 62km cycling race.

The Icons of Africa Awards recognise individuals across the continent who have demonstrated leadership, resilience, and impact in their fields.
Mr TAP’s nomination reflects years of advocacy, creativity, and commitment to communities that are often overlooked.
