Hirsch’s Carnival and Weber recently got together with the Brakpan community and Lifeline for a fun cook off! Each contestant was given a braai pack with boerewors, steak and a lamp chop, and Hirsch’s staff were on hand to help out with anything else that was needed.
Contestants were given 30 minutes to cook their meat to perfection.Winning best presentation for a meat platter was Tony Coetzee. Braai fundi, Charlotte Doria was the overall winner and won a brand new Weber braai, which she kindly donated to the Lifeline drive. Said Charlotte “I came here as an amateur, and didn’t think I would win, so I was very excited to do so!! I am a great supporter of what Lifeline does in the community and they are welcome to raffle the braai to their fun walk which will be in February. I love the fact that East Rand stereo is here and that Hirsch’s does so much to help in the community.” Commented Gerhard Schaap from East Rand Stereo said “I have never had so much fun at an outside broadcast! Thank you for making this so exciting.”
