{pp}Eighty20 Consulting has released its second study on the South African retail industry, entitled "Analysis of South Africa's large clothing retailers and their customers". The study follows on from their previous research into the retail environment where the focus was on the FMCG market("Large Grocery Retailers and Their Customers").

Drawing from a wide and comprehensive range of data (including the AMPS 2006 survey, group annual reports, as well as various other sources), this latest report offers insight into shopper characteristics and behaviour as well as interesting data which aligns consumer’s store preference with their media preference.

The study includes a summary of the company financials (excluding Pepkor), and in depth analysis of all the large retailers customers. The customer analysis includes a  focus on demographics (such as  race, LSM, per capita income, and distribution) and other key characteristics such as financial product usage, media usage, advertising awareness, cellphone usage, language profiles, internet and vehicle access.

The study is a must-have for analysts, ad agencies, textile and apparel suppliers, and the research community as a whole. This 45 page Power Point presentation, is available for purchase on the Eighty20 website. The cost is R2 600, or R1 600 for Eighty20 Subscribers.
