Remains of UNICEF employee found in Cape Town

The United Nations in South Africa has learned with great sadness that the remains of UNICEF colleague, Charlotte (Nana Yaa) Nikoi, have been found within the Table Mountain area in Cape Town, South Africa, last week. The United Nations family is deeply saddened by the news and wishes to express its condolences to her family and loved ones. Mrs. Nikoi was a committed colleague who devoted the past 18 years of her life to the work and values of the United Nations. Her warmth and steadfast support will be missed by all those who knew her.
Mrs. Nikoi was reported missing on 21 March while on a family vacation in Cape Town. The United Nations wishes to thank the South African authorities for their efforts and to express its gratitude to all those who assisted in the search for Mrs. Nikoi. We ask that her family’s privacy be respected during this difficult time.
