Sports expo goes virtual

The inaugural edition of the Sports Expo Africa (SEA) will be held on 30 October-1 November 2020 as an online event and it will be a highly interactive platform for all those involved in organising and participating in sports events.

The event will feature a main stage for live roundtable discussions as well as interviews with some of the world’s top sports personalities with many of the content to be repeated over the three days of the expo, to give visitors the opportunity to create their own schedules and watch it at their own convenience.

Attendees will also be able to attend a myriad of online workshops; masterclasses and product demonstrations to further exploit value-form being part of this groundbreaking consumer event.

Exhibitors will, not only showcase their latest products and services but will also be able to link their e-commerce and online shops directly from their virtual booths by offering discounts and special offers to the visitors.

Another exciting highlight of the expo is the “Privê Rooms” which will be hosted by sports icons, having “virtual dinners” with fans as “VIP Guests”. Each “virtual dinner table” will host up to 10 people as “VIP Guests” and they will be able to interact and ask the icon any question, they’ve always wanted to ask. “VIP Guests” will receive a host of other value-added benefits and their family and friends will also be able to join these “virtual dinners”, but only as “spectators”. Each icon will also nominate a charity to receive a portion of the income from this exciting activation.

The 3X Challenge for rugby, soccer and cricket will also be staged during the three days of the expo, subject to further relaxation by the government of the current lockdown regulations, pertaining to sports events. 3X Challenge is an innovative sports challenge along the lines of Golf-Skins, wherein a team, made up of three sports stars will compete against their counterparts in three codes, i.e. Rugby, Cricket and Soccer, respectively.

The organisers are hard at work to develop as many as possible interactive activations for visitors to the expo, which will be free of charge, with the exception of the premier masterclasses, “Privê Rooms” and the by-invitation-only product demonstrations.
