Magic show with a message

Did you know that 60% of South Africans do not wash their hands properly after using the toilet? Or that 30% of childhood deaths in South Africa are a result of preventable communicable diseases? And that 75% of illnesses in the home can be prevented by good hygiene habits such as hand washing?

To do well, learners have to be well. Over 14 million learners and students go to school, college or university every day. When a sick student touches a doorknob, keyboard, desk or other surface, the leave behind germs that can live for up to 48 hours, infecting others.

It's time to break the cycle. And it starts with the very young. Learners in primary and pre-primary schools now have the opportunity to learn a very important lesson about hand hygiene in a most entertaining way.

The Magic of Wash, Wipe and Sanitise! is an ingenious way of teaching young children the value of keeping their hands, workspaces and other hotspots in school clean in order to avoid the risk of infection. Using a selection of magic tricks, Pretoria based magician and children's entertainer Magic Man Hendini is about to embark on an extensive campaign to teach children the value of washing, wiping and sanitising.

Starting early in 2014, Hendini will be visiting various schools and pre-schools in Gauteng to teach this valuable lesson in a manner that will be remembered for the rest of their lives. The show is fast and exciting, with lots of magical surprises. Armed with soap, bucketful's of water, enough wipes for a whole school and endless squirts of sanitiser, Hendini is sure to make a splash. This 40 minute show is turbo-charged learning.

Bookings are now open for the first term of 2014. The show is suitable for ages 4 - 13 year olds and includes a workbook template which the school can copy and distribute to the learners. This will reinforce the learning and add to the fun. The show fits in well with current syllabi and Hendini's show will ensure that this is a lesson remembered for a lifetime.

Hendrik Baird, who studied Drama at the University of Pretoria, performs the show. As a professional actor and arts administrator, Hendrik has built up a wealth of experience over the past 30 years. Performing magic from childhood, Hendrik has entertained at birthday parties, schools, in theatres, at arts festivals, events and even for corporate clients.

His latest show will astound you as you learn "The Magic of Wash, Wipe and Sanitise!"
